ORLUNA PRIVACY POLICY
Orluna (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Orluna mobile application and related services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
A. User-Provided Data
Photos you upload or capture within the app
Text inputs (questions, descriptions, prompts)
Preferences related to your color analysis and style
B. Automatically Collected Data
Device information (device type, OS version)
App usage data (interactions, features used)
Basic analytics (performance, crash data)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data solely to provide and improve the Orluna experience, including:
Performing personal color analysis
Generating personalized recommendations (makeup, outfits, styling)
Improving app performance and accuracy
Maintaining and securing the platform
We do not sell your personal data.
3. AI Processing & Third-Party Services
To provide analysis and recommendations, Orluna uses secure third-party AI services.
What is shared:
Uploaded images (photos)
User input (text prompts or questions)
Why it is shared:
To analyze color, tone, and visual characteristics
To generate personalized styling recommendations
Who it is shared with:
Trusted AI providers (e.g., OpenAI or similar services)
These providers:
Process data solely to deliver results
Do not use your data for advertising
Are required to maintain appropriate data protection standards
4. User Consent
Before any photo or data is processed:
You are explicitly asked for permission
No image is analyzed without your consent
By continuing to use the app and submitting content, you agree to this processing.
5. Data Storage & Retention
Orluna's color analysis uses a selfie photo you provide. We want to be explicit about what this means:
- What we collect: The photo itself (a standard image file). We do not create, store, or use any biometric face template, faceprint, ARKit face mesh, or other data capable of uniquely identifying a person from their face.
- How it is used: The photo is analyzed solely to derive perceived skin and hair color attributes (undertone, contrast, chroma) so we can determine your color season and generate a personalized palette and styling recommendations.
- Who processes it: The image is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to OpenAI's vision API for one-time analysis. OpenAI's API data policy excludes API inputs from being used to train their models. The image is also stored in your private Supabase Storage bucket, protected by Row-Level Security so that only your authenticated account can access it.
- Retention: Your photos are retained only while your account is active. They are permanently deleted immediately when you tap Delete Account in Profile → Account inside the app, or when you remove an individual photo from your gallery. We do not keep backups of deleted photos.
- Not shared: Photos are never shared with advertisers, analytics providers, data brokers, or any third party other than the AI processor described above.
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate safeguards to protect your information, including:
Secure transmission (HTTPS)
Restricted access to sensitive data
Use of trusted service providers
7. Your Rights & Control
You may:
- Stop using the app at any time.
- Delete your account and all associated data directly from within the app: open the Profile tab → Account section → tap Delete Account → confirm. This permanently removes your authentication record, color profile, scan history, gallery photos, saved items, hair and skin profiles, and referral data. The deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.
- Alternatively, request deletion by emailing support@withorluna.com and we will process it within 30 days.
8. Children’s Privacy
Orluna is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as needed. Continued use of the app indicates acceptance of updates.
